Valentino Garavani (born 1932) has created some of the world's most elegant evening dresses, and is problebly the one who has dressed most jet-setting women. Known as Valentino, plain and simple, he has been in business for over forty years.
At a young age he moved from Italy to Paris to study fashion. 1960 launched his first own collection, and he subsequently became one of fashion's most prominent names. 1970 was the first prêt à porter collection.
