U.S. company in the sporting industry with headquarters in Oregon, USA.
Founded by Phil Knight in the early 1970's. Knight then imported sports shoes from Asia and sold to American runners. One of the marks that he imported was called Blue Ribbon Sports. Knight and Bill Bowerman developed these shoes and a female student made the mark, the "swoosh". The name is taken after the Greek goddess of victory Nike.
